You can start to think about what you want to do with the Pebble, but that’s about it.
The Pebble is a smartwatch with a touchscreen.
But it doesn’t have an interface, nor do you need to install any software to do so.
And yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t build your own apps.
I’ve already written about how you can do this on the Raspberry Pi.
There’s a wide range of apps out there that use the Pebble’s touchscreen to interact with the internet and notifications.
One of my favourites is the Spotify app that I wrote for the Pebble.
Here’s how you do it.
Step 1.
Install the Pebble app If you want your Pebble to talk to your Android phone, you’ll need to download and install the Pebble Connect app.
If you’re building a desktop app, it’s easier to install the Android app instead.
Download Pebble Connect: The Pebble Connect App: Step 2.
Create a Pebble-compatible app from scratch Once you’ve downloaded and installed the Pebble apps, open up the Pebble-specific Pebble app in the Pebble Touch app.
Tap the “create a new Pebble-compatible app” button at the bottom of the screen.
You’ll be prompted to enter a name for your app.
I chose Pebble Connect, which was easy.
Tap the “Next” button to create the app.
You can also tap the “Create” button on the bottom-right of the app to add additional features to it.
I’d like to include the ability to schedule notifications, a music player and more.
Step 3.
Start the app If everything went well, you should now have a Pebble app that you can launch.
Press the “Add” button next to the Pebble logo and enter a Pebble name, such as Pebble.
Connecting to the network If your Pebble connects to your phone, it will open up your connected phone.
It will also send and receive messages from your phone.
Connecting to your Pebble’s connected phone Step 4.
Start listening to notifications Tap the Pebble icon to open up a notification panel.
You should now be able to access notifications on your Pebble, and the app will update when you make a notification.
You can also listen to incoming messages from other devices in your home.
Listen to incoming text messages from Pebble, Spotify, or Google Now on your connected Android phone Now, go back to the main Pebble app.
Scroll down to the “Connect to Pebble” section and tap the icon at the top right of the notification panel to open the Connected Phone app.
You will now be connected to your connected device, and you can listen to the notifications from your Pebble and the other apps.
You may also receive a notification from your connected Pebble if you’re using the Android Phone app to open it.
Step 5.
Listen to incoming notifications from Pebble On your Android device, open the Pebble browser and go to the location you want the notification to be sent from.
You probably want to use the same location as the Pebble service so that other apps don’t need to be connected.
You might also want to make sure your Android app doesn’t get disconnected.
Once you’re connected, tap the notification you want, and then tap the Play button on your phone to launch your Pebble app from your home screen.
The notifications should be displayed in the notifications drawer.
If the notifications aren’t showing up, tap on them to bring them up on your home page.
You can even mute notifications that aren’t on your notification page, which makes the notifications appear as if they’re muted from your device.
You don’t have to mute notifications, though, as you can use the notification list to see all the notifications on the screen at once.
Follow the prompts to make a new notification, then press the “Send” button.
The notification will appear on your screen.
Tap on it to send the notification.
It’s that simple.
You now have an app on your Android smartwatch that will automatically update your notifications when you add a new call, text or other notification.
And that’s it.
There are no external dependencies or dependencies on other apps, which means you can build any kind of application using the Pebble as a screen.
It’s a very powerful feature that makes Pebble a truly useful piece of hardware.
You’ve probably already written an app using the platform, so you’re ready to share your experiences with other developers.
